Food Program

Our program is dedicated to providing hot, home-style meals to the following groups:

  • Territorial Defense Groups. These are the hundreds of thousands of local civilians who were compelled to help the Ukrainian Army and protect their homes and cities against invading forces. These courageous people need hot home-made meals to stay healthy, strong and fight against military aggression from professional Russian military forces.

  • Displaced Families. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are currently hiding in bomb shelters, and don’t have access to food, water, and basic sanitation. Many were forced to travel hundreds of miles to get to safer regions of Ukraine. Many of them found refuge in the train stations and other municipal buildings, many hide in the bomb shelters and basements. Needless to say, they need hot meals for nutrition and some comfort during this time of horrible distress.

  • Elderly People. Many elderly people don’t have reliable access to proper meals. In many places the infrastructure and public transportation were damaged, so getting to a grocery store is a challenge. Also, the war created supply chain shortages, so stores have limited inventory. Through this Food Program we provide hot meals to the most vulnerable population groups – senior citizens.

How we work:

We work through local volunteer groups who cook and deliver hot meals where they are most needed. By donating to our Food Program, you are directly financing volunteer groups and helping them feed thousands of people. Meet the heroes who spend day and night cooking and delivering comfort food to people who need it the most. Ukraine Recovery has sent funds to ten volunteer groups. Here are a few of them:

Moon Rabbit Restaurant Volunteers. 1000 meals per day. They serve the Kiev region: Territorial Defense Groups, Elderly People and Displaced Families.

Vino E Cucina Restaurant Volunteers. 5000 meals per day. They serve the Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv regions: Hospitals, Displaced Families, Orphanages, Disabled and Elderly People, Territorial Defense Groups.

Ukrainian Restaurant Association Volunteers. 15,000 meals per day. They serve the Kiev region: Hospitals, Displaced Families, Territorial Defense Groups, certain Ukrainian Army battalions, Elderly People.

Supplies contributions:

In addition to sending funds to the volunteer groups, Ukraine Recovery is looking for suppliers to donate Non-perishable food items and food packaging supplies for our Food Program. Two containers have been shipped and more are coming.
